A 60-second test before we build the guided maneuver. Grant motion access, then hold the phone flat against the side of your head and tilt — the numbers should move cleanly and settle when you hold still.

Move to a position, capture it, then move away to see the change.
Watch the Yaw number. Turn your head left/right while sitting upright — if Yaw drifts or barely moves, that confirms the known blind spot: the setup turn can't be auto-detected and will need a manual "Ready" tap. Pitch and Roll are what drive the lying-down steps.
What each axis means for Epley
PitchReads lying back vs. sitting up — the biggest, most reliable signal in the maneuver.
RollReads turning the head while lying down and rolling onto your side. Also reliable.
YawCompass heading — jittery and drift-prone. We avoid depending on it.
